Trip photos,upcoming classes and more

Thought I would share a few shots from our trip with you and some upcoming classes. Kind of a long post, so bear with me!

This was out view out of our hotel window in Seattle. Beautiful City! Lush, gorgeous green foliage every where!

A penguin made from all scrap metal in a Seattle shopping plaza. Very cool!
The first picture on the boat of my sister-in-law, Ricky, drinking a Bahama Mama, out on the 12th deck. I guess we we're hoping that tropical drinks would make us feel (or maybe pretend) that we we're somewhere warmer than North to Alaska. More cruise pictures to come!

Father's Day Card Class, Saturday, June 7 at 10:30 am. Five great guy cards featuring Fancy Pants About A Boy and Papa lines. Perfect for Father's Day or masculine birthday's. We will be using Bazzill Stitching Templates, Tim Holtz's Grungeboard and Crackle Paints, transparencies, alcohol inks, and Ranger Paint Dabbers. Very fun! Try out the Grungeboard, (we love this stuff) crackle paints, dabbers, blending tool and more!

5 cards for $15.00, scissors and adhesive required. Call 721-7529 to reserve your spot.

One Sheet Wonder Card Class, Saturday, June 14 at 10:30 a.m.

Eleven cards from one sheet of Basic Grey's Two Scoop Collection. A great class that shows how to use every bit of one piece of 12 x 12 paper. Lots of fun embellishments to match!

Cost is $20.00, scissors and adhesive required. Again call to reserve your spot, 721-7529.
OOOOppppppS! same photo! I'll fix it later...but the class is 11 different cards.

Next, on Saturday, June 21, we are making a Mini Clear Birthday Book at 10:30 a.m. We will be using clear coasters from Clear Scraps for the book, Cuttlebugging the covers, using fun scallop punches and birthday rub ons from Bo Bunny and some fun embellishments for Cloud 9. Great mini project to get you acquainted with the hottest trend in scrapbooking...clear acrylic albums.
Cost is $20.00, scissors and adhesive required. You know the drill, call to reserve your spot...721-7529.

Last, I thought I would share this Bo Bunny Word Book that I made for Leslie's son, James, who is graduating this weekend. It's the Grade album, I just took the E off. Great quick project, lots of room for pictures (hint, hint Leslie). Can't wait to get the photos in it and add some blue n silver ribbons and embellishments for Stevens. We have several other Bo Bunny Word Albums to choose from...Party, Love, I (heart) you, Family, Believe, Team! Very Fun and they make great gifts.

Teacher Appreciation Gift Idea

While surfing thru Two Peas in a Bucket today, I came across this cute idea and poem for a teacher appreciation gift. Thought you guys might enjoy it and come up with some cute ways to make it for your little one's teachers, since it's the last week of school. Can you believe it? This year has just flown by.

Credit goes to http://ryzmomplus2.typepad.com/my_weblog/2008/05/teacher-gift.html.

Okay, it might cost you a fortune in candy bars, but it's just too cute to pass up!

Throughout the school year you have been a LIFESAVER,
And that's nothing to SNICKER about,
You've had to deal with TWIX from students acting like 3 Musketeers
but you have always RIESEN to the occasion.
Although there were many days you thought you'd lost your SKITTLES
or felt like an AIRHEAD with all you had to do
And the accidents caused by your butterfingers
I’m sure were good n plenty
So while the PAYDAYS are probably not 100 GRAND
its time for you to TAKE 5 and rest your WHATCHAMACALLIT.
Thank you for all you do And whether you go
across the country and down to 5th avenue
We hope your summer is EXTRA special

Send us a photo of what you come up with, love to see your creativity. Just thought it sounded like a cute project...have fun with it! artplay@rushmore.com

We're Home!

We're home after the trip of a lifetime. We had so much fun, saw amazing sights, took incredible classes and all in all, had a blast. Altered Art & Scrap Playground reopens tomorrow at 10:00 am, with our normal business hours. Hope to see you this week!

Make sure to check out Tim's blog with more about the trip and the classes...I will post more photos as I organize them. Love this one of the Light House. The Ocean was a bit treacherous Monday night, but made for some great photos, it was a little tricky just to walk or stand in the ship. Kind of fun!

Off to Sail The Ocean Blue

Just wanted to send out a reminder that we will be closing the store for our cruise to Alaska with Tim Holtz. We will be closed Friday, May 9, at 2:00 pm thru Monday, May 19. We will reopen on Tuesday the 20th of May, with normal business hours. Let us know if you need anything before we go. Just give us a call at 721-7529.

We are looking so forward to this, it'll be so much fun. Plus we will have a ton of new techniques to share with you. Tim's the master and is so inspiring. Can't wait to share all of it with you guys and all of his new products that are coming soon. Between the three of us (Kay, Ricky and I) I'm sure will have enough photos to bore everyone to death. On board workshops with Tim, a scenic railway trip, and whale watching in Juneau and Victoria, plus tons of shopping; what more could we ever ask for. It's going to be a blast.

We can't wait to see you on Tuesday the 2oth and tell you all the details. Bon Voyage!
